Grinding Media Motion and Collisions in Different Zones of Stirred Media Mills

نویسندگان

چکیده

Product fineness during grinding in stirred media mills is mainly influenced by the specific energy input, stress transferred colliding and frequency. The from collisions heterogeneously distributed mills. Herein, order to characterize distribution local collision frequencies, motion was calculated using discrete element method (DEM) simulations coupled with computational fluid dynamics (CFD). concentration, velocity profiles, energies were compared for varied total fillings stirrer speeds. It confirmed that normalized profile can be used divide chamber into four types of zones allow modeling distribution. However, frequency showed very different distributions velocities fillings.

Grinding-aid effect on the colour properties (Ry, whiteness and yellowness) of calcite in stirred media milling

This study investigates the influence of some chemical additives such as methanol, ethanol, sodium oleat, chloroform and sodium hexametaphosphate (SHMP) on the dry fine grinding of calcite (X50= 33 µm) using a stirred media mill. The experiments were carried out by a batch operation, and the change in colour properties (Ry, whiteness and yellowness) of calcite powder. The results showed that th...

the study of bright and surface discrete cavity solitons dynamics in saturable nonlinear media

WEAR RATE PREDICTION OF GRINDING MEDIA USING BPNN AND MLR MODELS IN GRINDING OF SULPHIDE ORES

Nowadays steel balls wear is a major problem in mineral processing industries and forms a significant part of the grinding cost. Different factors are effective on balls wear. It is needed to find models which are capable to estimate wear rate from these factors. In this paper a back propagation neural network (BPNN) and multiple linear regression (MLR) method have been used to predict wear rat...

Front speed in reactive compressible stirred media.

We investigated a nonlinear advection-diffusion-reaction equation for a passive scalar field. The purpose is to understand how the compressibility can affect the front dynamics and the bulk burning rate. We study two classes of flows: periodic shear flow and cellular flow, analyzing the system by varying the extent of compressibility and the reaction rate. We find that the bulk burning rate v(f...
